Multi Ticket Event Registration by Bursting Silver
The Multi Ticket Event Registration by BSI allows our clients' members to register themselves and their guests in a streamlined process. The new flow allows one individual to register for multiple registration options and assign each option to a specific member or guest within a few clicks.
We have created registration option hierarchy by leveraging the new event user defined tables available in iMIS cloud. This allows staff users to configure events in such a way that specific registration options are only visible if a linked parent registration item is selected first. We also introduced registration quantities, which allows staff to restrict how many child options are included with the primary parent registration.
A great example of this is registering a table. A table registration will have a single price. There are only a certain number of seats available per table and each member at this table is required to provide answers about the type of meal they would like. The price is associated with the main table registration, which is tied to the first member. The remaining seats are linked child registration items, which will not show as a primary registration option, but will appear as part of the registration process if the table registration item is selected. These table guest tickets each need to be assigned to specific individuals, but ultimately remain tied to that main registration. These additional guests can either be existing members who belong to the same company or new guests.
The overall event setup uses the out of the box event configuration, which means all the usual features of iMIS events can still be used: promotions, program question, special pricing, conflict codes for multi-day events, linked registration items, etc.
One of our main objectives for the enhanced event registration was a clean and simple user experience. We did not want to make this process cumbersome and hard for our clients' members. We achieve this by breaking the registration process into three distinct steps.
First the individual is presented with all available registration options. Using the drop-down menu beside each registration item, the individual can indicate the quantity needed for one item or for multiple items.
The next page presents a page that displays each of the registration items identified in the first step. The individual must now assign himself, someone from his company, or add a guest to each registration item. Each time the individual adds a new individual to a registration item, any linked questions will appear for the individual to answer on behalf of the registrant. A running total cost of each completed registration item is tracked in a display as well.
The final step in the process is checking out. Once the individual has completed assigning records to the registration items, he can proceed to the cart. BSI uses the out of the box RiSE cart, so existing reports will continue to flow naturally within iMIS and it keeps the upgrade path clean.
